You’re not supposed to find your way outside of the Matrix, but when you do you see the patterns. Here’s how stuff that screws the little guy gets implemented time and time again:
- Decide policy that benefits/satisfies ruling class.
- Make up “facts” to support it.
- Repeat “facts” endlessly until 2 + 2 = 5, skewering anyone who doesn’t agree as “dangerous radical”.
- If by some miracle public doesn’t buy – ignore and implement anyway (real leaders don’t listen to polls!).
- Rinse, repeat, and rewrite history later.
Or to quote an OSS profile on Hitler:
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. [emphasis added]
