Sorry, I know the French are well intentioned (or at least believe they are – though I think there is a heavy tinge of prejudice involved too):

Still, this is just wrong. Religious freedom (and that includes freedom to not be religious as well thank you) is critical to civil society.

There are a lot of things to not be proud of in the U.S. today, but this is one area that for at least the time time being we continue to get right. This would not happen in the U.S. – that simple.

Unfortunately I think it plays right into radicals hands and frankly gives a lot for any Muslim to be pissed about. Bad call France.
