McCain in an interview with 60 Minutes when asked if “waterboarding” is torture, replied:

“Sure. Yes. Without a doubt.”

When then asked, “So the United States has been torturing POWs?” he reponded:

“Yes. Scott, we prosecuted Japanese war criminals after World War II. And one of the charges brought against them, for which they were convicted, was that they water-boarded Americans.”
